Great Product Love it, Great to take on vacation to hold multiple books on unit don't have to haul many books around.
This needs to be used for College Students to have textbooks by Kindle it would be teriffic and save backaches and shoulder problems from carrying heavy booksacks.

This is the best thing ever. My husband calls me a walking advertisement for the kindle when I start telling people about it. Once I start talking about it, more and more of the cool things it can do come to mind.
I had been looking at it for the last year or so. Then, I happened to catch the Oprah show where Jeff Bezos was on and they both talked about it. That helped me take the plunge and it's amazing! How cool is it that I can have all the books I'm reading in my purse!(I read more than one book in any given period---I like variety.) So, when I'm in the car waiting for kids, etc, I can take it out and read what I'm in the mood to read, instead of planning in advance and bringing a book into the car----an easy thing to forget.
We're going on vacation soon, and what can I say. I'm thrilled I don't have to narrow down which books to bring along----a hard thing to do when you don't want to pack too much!
My daughter, a college junior, commented on it's page look. She's wondering if it will be used for college courses and pdf files professors send?
My mind is starting to think of all the great things it can do......... The kindle would also be good for people with poor vision as the font size can be quite large....The free sample downloads are great so you don't have to rush through the first chapter or so at the store or online before deciding if the book appeals to you........You can look up word definitions at the touch of a finger............Bible notations commenting on a verse reference or explanation are also there at the touch of a finger.....The variety of books already available in kindle format are amazing---even some books relating to my research into Norway and immigration to the US!.....Web browsing at text formatted sites..... and just the fact that so many words/books are available in one little source.....saving trees (paper) to boot--how ecological can one be?

The only bad thing is that not all books are available in Kindle format. I've run into two books in one month that I tried to buy on Kindle but couldn't. I'm sure that things will get better as popularity improves. I love the easy to view screen, being able to adjust font sizes, looking up definitions as you go. It's incredible. I enjoy it very much and you will too. I love the idea that I will be on a beach in Hawaii and buy a new book from my towel on the sand.

This thing is a ridiculous ripoff! It's screen continually froze on me. I have an army of twisted paper clips scattered on my bedside table, my bag, and my desk that I used to constantly reset it. In addition, when it did decide to work, I would press a button and then have to wait and wait for it to respond--if at all. Each time I attempted to use the Kindle, it was hit or miss if it would just be incredibly slow or completely freeze after 2 minutes. I contacted Customer service twice and was given poor advice both times.
I would not recommend this product at all! Just read the newspaper on line and pick up a paperback or listen on your MP3 player. The Kindle needed much more testing before it was released on the unsuspecting consumer! So disappointing!

Really like it and recommend to everyone. It just takes getting used to holding the device so that you are not turning pages when you don't want to. I like to read in bed alot and it is much lighter and easier to read than a regular book.
