I couldn't put it down. It inspired me and strengthened my belief in God and gave comfort to the age old question of why bad things happen to good people. If you plan to read any books this coming year, make it this one.
The Shack December 1, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a novel that contains deep Spiritual Truths written in a manner that is enjoyable and understandable. If you had the opportunity to spend a weekend with God and ask Him questions, what might they be? This book explores such answers. Once you begin reading it, you will not want to put it down.
Wonderful Read December 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL - Talk about a book that really made you think. I loved this book. I purchased this book for myself, my husband, mother and sister. My husband and I are still talking about it. Many of my friends are reading and we are anxiously awaiting an oppourtinity to have a discussion about it. This book challenged many of my own views and had me contemplating my own persception of God. It caused me to question the depth of my trust and if I fully relied on "Him". I found myself highlighting certain chapters and sentences. It is one I will definitely read again and again and again.
The Shack December 1, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I LOVED this book. The Shack made me feel like God loves me no matter what I've been through or what I'm going through. I was raised Catholic, left the faith, became a "non-denominational Christian" and now consider myself a misfit Christian. I'm a divorced, single mother and feel VERY unwelcomed in any so called Christian church. The Shack led me back to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I feel like I can pray again with open arms and love them as much as they love me- regardless of what the "Christian" society says or does. The key message to this book: Keep your eyes, love and prayers on God. He's there for you alwyas and forever.
Beware of this book! December 1, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a book of fiction and should be read as such, including those things written about God, the Bible, Jesus and what it means to be a Christian. There are many things in this book that contradict Scripture. Please do not read this book and believe that God deals with His creation in the way that it is portrayed. To get a correct understanding of God, please read the Bible and pray for God to reveal Himself to you.
