Don't be so uptight. December 4, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
First, her name is Chonda not Chondra. Second, in response to the review about Chonda not being so funny...seriously, you need to lighten up. What makes Chonda so funny is that she see's humor in everyday life. Because her husband and friend's husband had a honeymoon package to Cancun to save money doesn't mean she approves of homosexuality, she just found it funny that her "all man" husband had to go through that. I have listened to every one of Chonda's CD's and am here to tell you that the girl is hilarious. She also has a wonderful gift of presenting God and His blessings in all her shows. It is just like she has been quoted saying, "It has always been about more than the laughter." People need to learn to laugh at themselves every once and a while.
isn't that special.... January 2, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Not quite so funny November 18, 2005 9 out of 17 found this review helpful
This video was a big disapointment. Much of it was great Chonda fun, and her singing is really good. Her joke about Sleeping Beauty deserving the only sound sleep she'd had in years had me in stitches. However much of this was uninspired. For a large part of her performance she was too busy laughing at her own jokes before even telling them to let the audience in on what was so funny. Are we supposed to laugh just because she is? Some if it was downright offensive. She ridiculed a bald man in the front row for being bald until the joke was really beaten down into the ground. Ridiculing another person (made in God's image) that way is not funny. It is inconsiderate, cruel, and ungodly. The man in question laughed along like a good sport, but it was obviously very painful. She also spent a good deal of time laughing about how she and a friend got their two husbands mistaken for gay men. This was just plain sickening. I watched this with a group of ladies from my church, and there was only an awkward silence, not laughter, during these segments. Overall this was a sad disapointment.
Humourous Holy Outlook on Life August 22, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A real breath of fresh air. She brings humor to us without vulgarity and profanity. Everyday situations brought to life with a slice of spirituality and comedy. A true delight in Person. I saw her at this years "Women of Faith" conference in Fort Wayne IN and she is hilarious. The coliseum was full of laughter and smiles. You will not be disappointed.
My daughter & I both enjoyed this one August 21, 2004 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I saw Chonda in person at the Women of Faith conference earlier this year. She was so funny, I decided to buy this DVD. I laughed so hard watching it! We recently took a long road trip, and I put this DVD in the car for the kids (girl age 12 & boy age 11) as an option. My daughter watched this one several times, and she laughed pretty much non-stop through the video. It's nice to be able to share a stand-up comedian video with my kids. My son was less impressed (probably no shock there), but I did catch him at least smiling a few times.
