4 out of 5 stars Short But Sweet   January 1, 2009
As a Kutless fan, I like the sound of most of the songs, but found them too short. In under 15 minutes, I think I was through 5 songs already ! I hope Kutless doesn't repeat that on future CDs.

4 out of 5 stars Solid Rock Worship Album   December 2, 2008

Kutless is a band I've enjoyed since their self-titled debut album in 2002, in particular the songs Run and Your Touch which are biblical and having seen the band live, are full of emotional energy. Arguably, I felt they've improved with each of their following albums Sea Of Faces, Strong Tower and Hearts of The Innocent, which I rated a top 10 album of 2006.

To Know That You're Alive is yet another solid rock worship album but not quite another improvement over previous work in my opinion. The opening track The Feeling is a nice rock anthem with biblical lyrics, as are the other stand-out tracks Complete and the title track, which is the closest to my favorite Kutless song Not What You See. My ultimate review is that those 3 songs were quickly added to my Kutless playlist, along with I Do Not Belong and You, which are both solid power ballads, but unlike the last 2 albums, there weren't more songs that really stood out to me. If you liked their previous work, you should like this album which for me is 75% out of 100%, 3 1/2 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Best All-Around Christian Rock Album   October 24, 2008

I saw the cover of this album and liked the artwork and then sampled a few tracks. I loved a number of them and thought I'd buy the album. I can truly say I got more than I bargained for with this purchase. I really love the orchestral ballads (Dying To Become), the smooth songs and the harder hitting songs. This is my first Kutless album but I will definitely get their next one. I wanted a hardcore album but I found that I appreciated the great balance of alternative and hard rock themes and lyrics used in this album. Truly an excellent album.

most of the songs on this album were really good. now I'm one of those hardcore rock metal people, so i didn't like everything but Kutless is definitely taking this is the right direction! i love how developed the sound is.
