Little Dawn in This Dark Finale September 17, 2008 It's been a year since the pulses started. The Branning family has been through a lot in that time. But things are finally looking up. Banks are opening on a limited basis. Even better, word has come out that the pulses have stopped. While that doesn't mean technology is back, it means things can get started.
Which is why Craig shows up. Denni's former fiancee has taken a job trying to restore the electricity in Alabama. And he's using it as an excuse to worm his way back into Denni's heart. Naturally, that's not sitting well with Mark Green, Denni's new boyfriend.
But while all this is going on, twelve year old Beth is withdrawing. After witnessing a murder, she is afraid the killer will track her down and fulfill his threat to murder her, too. Should she keep her mouth shut? Will he find her?
This is the fourth and final book in the series. It is absolutely critical you read the other three first to fully understand who these people are and there relationships.
Having said that, I was disappointed with the book. Once again, the mystery aspect gets squashed for other things. And yes, there is a lot going on here between Beth's story, the romantic triangle, and ending the power outages. But it's only the last two that are properly developed. Craig and Mark's scenes provide some much needed comic relief. And it's nice watching how things are slowing coming back to what we knew.
But it's Beth's story that really disappoints. As I already said, as a mystery it falls very flat. And the entire story tries to wrestle with some very weighty theological issues. Even though this is the longest book in the series, it just doesn't have enough time to fully develop everything. As a result, the ending was way too rushed to give the emotional resolution I needed. Honestly, if there had been another book in the series to fully play out what happened here, I would have been happier.
Fans of the series will want to read this book to find out how it all ends. And I am glad I read the series. It's just a shame that this was the weakest entry in it.
Dawn's Light an edge of your seat winner! September 11, 2008 The long wait for this book was well worth it. From the minute I picked it up I couldn't put it down. There were actually two mysteries going on at the same time. This book is well written as is all of Terri Blackstock's books. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, but look out for the end. Keep your kleenex handy!

I HAVE NOT FOUND A TERRI BLACKSTOCK BOOK I DIDN'T LIKE. HER BOOKS KEEP YOU WONDERING BUT NOT TOO MUCH. SHE DOES NOT GO TO THE EXTREME. I LIKE HER ENDINGS. LIKE MOST FEMALES, WE CAN GO THROUGH ALOT BUT LETS ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD ENDING. THANKS TERRI. I HAVE READ NEARLY ALL OF YOUR BOOKS. KIM FROM GEORGIA

Dawn's Light/ Terri Blackstock August 27, 2008 This was spell binding!! A perfect ending to this series. I couldn't put it down. Hope to see more of this type of book from Ms. Blackstock in the future. I would highly recommend it to any and all readers who like a good Christian based novel. It had mystery, a love story, and MUCH meaning in todays world. Myrna Cullop Damascus, VA
